When I'm planning a trip, one of the most useful web sites is http://www.wineweb.com/. This single web site has the most complete information on local wineries in a given region. You can click on the US, then click on a state to see the wineries in that state. You can then see all the wineries in a list or in a map view that you can scroll and zoom in and/or out. This is really useful when you just want to get an idea what is in a given area. Beware though!! Not all the information is 100% up to date, and there are some bad links. But, in general it is the most complete listing I've found.
